Troubleshooting
- If an image does not import, try exporting it from Photos or Files as a standard PNG or JPEG and import it again.
- If a PDF page does not appear as expected, try importing fewer pages or exporting the page as an image first.
- If text, face, or code detection misses an item, add a manual redaction box, ellipse, or freehand redaction before export.
- If saving to Photos fails, check iOS photo library permissions for Hide Info and try again.
- If sharing fails, save the export to Files first and share the saved file.
- If the app behaves unexpectedly, restart the app and confirm your device has available storage.
Common questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Hide Info processes imported images, OCR, face detection, code detection, redaction rendering, metadata inspection, and export verification locally on your device.
Does Hide Info automatically remove every sensitive detail?
No. Detection can help find text, faces, or codes, but you are responsible for reviewing the final export before sharing.
Which export formats are supported?
The app supports flattened PNG, JPEG, and raster PDF exports.
Does the app require an account?
No. Hide Info does not require account registration.
What to include when reporting an issue
- Your device model, such as iPhone 15 or iPad Air.
- Your iOS or iPadOS version.
- The Hide Info app version and build number shown in Settings.
- The action you were taking, such as importing, scanning text, exporting, saving to Photos, or sharing.
- The export format involved, if relevant.
- Any visible error message.
